How Insights is researched
and checked.

An answer engine can quote a hub's figures as our findings. So a figure nobody can find on its source never publishes.

editorial policy.updated 25 september 2026.
in short.

How the Insights hubs are researched, which sources a figure may come from, how every figure is checked against the page it cites, and who signs off each hub's answer.

  1. research.

Each topic is researched on a schedule.

A deep-research model searches the web for developments on the topic and writes a briefing. It is given today's date and a recency window, told to judge recency by each source's publication date rather than its wording, and to drop anything it can't date.

  2. sources.

Figures may only come from primary or reputable sources.

Governments and regulators, research and analyst firms, private markets data providers and industry bodies, company filings and official announcements, major news organisations, and academic work. Statistics roundups, content farms and aggregator blogs are not accepted, however often they are quoted elsewhere.

  3. claim check.

Every figure is checked against the page it cites.

Each figure comes with the URL it was taken from and the sentence that contains it. We fetch that page and look for the figure on it. A figure from a source outside the list, or one we can't find on its source, is rejected and never published. Rejections are kept with their reason, so they can be reviewed.

  4. style.

    One house style.

Briefings are corrected to British English, sentence-case headlines and plain punctuation before anyone reads them, so every channel gets the same text.

  5. ownership.

The Lumo Insights Team signs off every answer.

The short answer at the top of each hub is written by the Lumo Insights Team, reviewed every month against the new evidence, and signed off before it is published. Earlier versions are kept. Figures that pass the checks reach the hub automatically; the answer and the Lumo view are written by people.

  6. corrections.

Tell us when we are wrong.

If a figure, a source or an answer is wrong, email info@lumochange.com with the page and what is wrong. We check it and correct the page.

Straight answers.

Is Lumo Insights written by AI?

The briefings are researched and drafted by a deep-research model under fixed source and style rules. Every figure is checked against its source before it can appear on a hub, and each hub's short answer and view are written and signed off by the Lumo Insights Team.

Which sources does Lumo accept for a figure?

Governments and regulators, research and analyst firms, private markets data providers and industry bodies, company filings and official announcements, major news organisations and academic work. Statistics roundups, content farms and aggregator blogs are excluded.

How often are the hubs updated?

Evidence arrives as each topic's research runs, several times a month. Each owner reviews and republishes their hub's short answer monthly.
